"The Bea Blouse" Pattern Review
Hi Everyone!
Thank you so much for visiting my page! I have something new for you today! I decided to add pattern reviews to my blog! I love sewing and my blog is all about love, so to me it makes sense to add a little bit of crafts to my page :-) I will keep posting information about self-love, personal development and mindfulness, but I will add my passion to it!
Here is the link to my video review if you prefer to watch rather than read: Video Review.
The Bea Blouse pattern I got from Simply Sewing magazine issue thirty eight (Simply Sewing Issue 38 - The Bea Blouse).
I really liked the simplicity of the pattern! The blouse had only two darts, the bow was very easy to saw and to attach. I did have to make minor changes in darts because they were too low. You can see the video with the muslin for this project by following this link: The Bea Blouse Muslin.
I was planning on wearing this blouse with skirts and tuck it in. But it has so much ease that it doesn't look good this way. I love how it goes with shorts or jeans!
I think the blouse fits me well, but I do have some tightness between my shoulders. I am not sure why. Maybe I will fix it by changing seam allowances from 5/8 of an inch to 3/8. Or maybe I will keep it as it is, because it doesn't really bother me too much!
When I looked at my photos in this blouse I got the idea of making a dress by using this pattern. I think all I need to do is to make it longer. And I also want to make the bow from contrasting fabric. So I might get back to this pattern again but will use it in a different way.
Sewing is so much fun! There is no limit to your creativity! You can do whatever you like and be absolutely unique! It helps you to express yourself, to bring something cute to this world and to share your happiness!
I want to thank my friend Guzel who helped me to put together the photos for this project. She has a great sense of style and shares it on her blog - Styling In The City With Guzel!
I think she is very talented! I recommend you to visit her page and get some fresh ideas!
I hope you have the hobby that you enjoy as much as I enjoy sewing!
