Stop Overthinking And Take A Pause


I had such a busy weekend!

Yesterday I got my hair done, I am getting more and more blonde! Yay! Then I had a photoshoot! Can't wait to see the results :-) Today I had brunch with my girlfriends and then met up with my little sister Sequoia.

And here I am, finally, lying on my couch and writing the article.

When we have some problem, especially serious one, we cannot stop think about it. Our mind likes to create action plans, find the solutions. But if you do it too much and too hard, you create overthinking which can exhaust you. If you are tired, if you try the same thing again and again and you see the same pattern, it is time to take a pause.

Albert Einstein once said, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them". In order to switch your thinking to something new, you need to take a pause. It is very important to remember about it, to understand it.

Unfortunately, our brain believes that if you let go the problem even for short period of time, something horrible will happen. And because of the desire to control the situation we cannot take a pause and look at it later with fresh insight. We think that the more attention we give to the problem, the easier will be to find the solution. But if you couldn't find it on the first place, why do you think you can find it with the same mindset if you keep thinking about it?

You can only get progress if you change something. And pause can help you to make this change. Life knows by itself how to fix our problems. It will give you the opportunity to get to the place where you should be, if you don't resist it. And when something becomes too hard, it means that you are overthinking it and you need a pause.

This principle can be applied to work, to relationships, to different projects, etc. When you get lost, when you tried your best and nothing worked, just let it go. Sometimes this pause can be short, sometimes it can last months. But the solution most likely will come to you when you least expect it!

Don't create difficulties for yourself, don't waste your energy. Try to be mindful and notice when you start overthinking and when you are getting too far from reality. Trust your life, it will lead you to the right place!
