Happiness Exercise: Gratitude.

Today I want to share with you my favorite happiness exercise! It is very simple and pleasant. But in order to see the result, you need to do it every day.

So what is this exercise? Before you go to sleep think of your day and ask yourself, "What did go well today and why?" And try to reply to these questions as mindful as possible. If you just repeat everyday that you are thankful for your family, it won't help. Don't get me wrong, it is wonderful to be thankful for the people you love. But in order to train your brain, you need to make it work. You should scan your day and pick up the good moments. You need to lift your weights, like you do it in gym to grow your muscles.
If you do this exercise for a long period of time, your brain will get used to the habit of paying attention to positive aspects of your life. But it does take time, you probably will start noticing the change in your thinking after six months of exercising.
Of course you don't have to do that, like you don't have to work out, or eat healthy. But if you care about yourself, if you want your life to be easier, you will at least give it a try.
I am doing this exercise for more than two years already. And it literally changed my brain and helped me to become much more optimistic and positive!
