My Self-Discipline Tips.

Hi Everyone! I had very nice week, super busy and productive. I attended my first Vocal Technique class and it was amazing! I loved it so much! I am looking forward for the next class :-) But for now I will just keep practicing at home.

Here is the link to the video for today's article: My Self-Discipline Tips.

No long time ago I posted article and video about the importance of discipline. And today I would like to get back to this subject and share my personal experience, what exactly helped me to become more disciplined.

1. Dissatisfaction. I don't think I would work on myself hard, if I had everything I needed. In my life I value relationships the most. And the fact that I am single creates a lot of discomfort for me. When I keep myself busy and productive, I don't think too much about my loneliness and it helps me to stay more positive.

2. My Future. As I just said, I feel discomfort because I don't have a boyfriend and I need to keep myself busy. So why wouldn't I go out, have fun with my friends? Why do I need to focus on discipline instead of getting simple pleasures? Because it is impossible always chase pleasures. It is exhausting, it affects health, it create dependence on external factors. And discipline only depends on you and it helps you to create more control over your life. I remember once I was crying in my bed and thinking "Why do I need to put all these efforts? To eat healthy, workout, live by schedule, study, read? I work so hard on myself but I still cannot get what I want the most, so what's the point?" And I realized that if I don't do all these things, I would just feel even worse. Yes, self-discipline doesn't make my biggest dream come true, but it defenitely makes my life easier. And if I stop working on myself, things won't get better, they would get even worse. So by discipline I am reducing the amount of negativity in my life and making things which are so hard to accept more tolerable. Discipline gives me a hope that my life in future will be much better!

3. Good Planning. If you want to be more disciplined, all you need to do is to create a good plan and stick to it. You can write down general areas you want to work on, like a diet, workouts, study, etc. Try to find something that you like. If you hate yoga and love climbing, don't force yourself to do yoga only because it sounds healthy. When you got the idea of things that you want to be focused on, make schedule for the month, and what is more important - make daily agenda. Every night before you go to sleep write down the list of tasks you need to complete tomorrow. It is very effective exercise. Please be realistic and specific, when you create this list. And the most important rule - complete the tasks that you put in there! It is extremely important! This is how you train your brain to follow your instructions. You must be the master, not your ego or whatever. If you decided that you need to work out, then work out, maybe just for 5 minutes, but do this. If you decided that you need to read, then take a book and read. Do everything that you promised yourself you would do. But try to start with simple tasks. If you create huge list which will be hard to complete, there will be no point of having it. The idea is not to torture yourself, but to learn how to achieve your goals little by little and how to control your own mind, when it doesn't want to focus on useful things and trying to run after pleasures.

These things helped me the most. I hope you will find them useful too! Please take care of yourself!
