Impermanence

Hi Everyone! Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Today I am writing an article to remind myself about something. And I hope you will find this reminder useful.

Here is the link to the video for my today's article: Impermanence.

I wanted to remind myself that everything is impermanent, good things, bad things, they come and go. Nothing can last forever. It is so simple to understand but yet sometimes hard to remember. And our forgetfulness can cause us suffering.

We like to experience pleasure, for example. And we think that if we try hard, we will be able to keep it permanently, we are afraid to lose it. But in reality we cannot only have pleasures in life. There is no need to chase pleasures, because most of them are ephemeral. We need to enjoy them and let them go, instead of getting attached. If we remember about impermanence, we won't lose so much time and energy on trying to hold on to our pleasures.

On other hand, we try to avoid pain. And if we experience it, it feels like it will never go away. And we are so afraid that it will last forever, that this fear creates even more suffering than the initial root of your pain itself. If we remember about impermanence, we won't be so scared. Everything comes to an end, and your pain will go away, it will, it will.

So we need to remember that nothing is permanent. Maybe make yourself a note, put a sticker on a fridge or something.

But it doesn't mean that you should become lazy and unmotivated. It just means that you don't have to be scared and you don't need to chase anything.

I also wanted to add in the end that no matter how impermanent the world is, it is extremely important to stay kind and compassionate to yourself, and to other people. Let's let things come and go, but let's keep compassion in our heart as long as we can!
