Free Learning Resources
Bonjour mes amies! I decided to start my today's article with French greeting because I started to learn French. And in this article I want to talk about the importance of learning and share with you some of my favorite learning resources that I use for free.
Here is the link to my video: Free Learning Resources.
Our brain needs training. When we do the same things over and over again, we don't create too many new neuroconnections. Because of that we can have the tendency to overthink, which can make us anxious. Trained brain is a happy brain. So if you want to be fresh, keep your brain sharp and stay younger for a longer period of time, I highly recommend you to keep learning new things.
Here is the list of my favorite learning resources.
1. Chicago Public Library. It offers digital books that you can download without leaving your home. You can read them for two weeks. It is super convenient option with minimum efforts!
2. Coursera. I love this app! I have it on my phone and on my TV. There are so many classes from the best schools. The level of professionalism is amazing! I want to share some of my favorite courses:
Penn has more courses about Positive Psychology than I listed, but I haven't checked out all of them.
I love Coursera and I think this is the best learning option!
3. YouTube. There are a lot of interesting classes on YouTube as well. Not all of them I can trust, but some of them I find very useful. Most of the classes that I watch on YouTube are in Russian. Sorry about that!
4. DuoLingo. Cute app which can help you to learn a new language. But I must say that I was not able to really improve my French by using Duo. I love it, because it is so cute, but I need more opportunities to speak language, not just selecting the right answers. And I feel like with Duo I wasn't speaking enough. But it is just my personal opinion, it might work differently for you. And I still love it. I have 1175 consecutive days of using it, it keeps me motivated!
In the end I wanted to add that it is very hard to learn things you are not interested in. And there is no need to do that. What I recommend you to do, is to write down the list of things that you like and try to find the sources of information about them.
And another VERY important thing is that when you share your knowledge with others, you can remember it better. So if you learned something very interesting, tell about it to your friend or partner. Try to explain it. If you can explain something that you learned to another person, it means that you will remember it, understanding is extremely important for memory. It is not enough just to watch classes. You need to understand the information.
Summary:
- Learning is super important and keeps you younger.
- Create the list of things you like and find information about them from professionals.
- Share your knowledge with others in a simple way.
I hope you will be able to find time for learning in your life! It is so much fun!
