AG1, FatSecret and Inside Tracker Review

Hi my darlings! Thank you for stopping by my post! Time flies by so fast, it's March 13th 2022 already. Summer is coming, I am trying to take care of my body, ha-ha.

Here is the link to the video for this post: AG1, FatSecret and Inside Tracker Review.

In the beginning of January I noticed that I started to gain weight. And usually it doesn't change too much and I am at 93 pounds maximum. But I was 95 and one evening I checked my weight and it was 97 pounds. I don't remember when I had such weight last time, maybe 10 years ago, when I was younger and my kilograms were distributed across my whole body, not only accumulated on my belly, lol.

I don't mind to have couple of extra pounds, but the idea that my weight got kind of out of control scared me. I thought that if today I am 97 pounds, what if tomorrow I will be 100 and day after tomorrow 110, etc? It made me think of my diet and exercises. And I usually had a healthy diet, but I think that because of fasting I started to eat more. Usually people lose weight when they fast, but maybe my body that doesn't have enough reserves got scared that food won't be accessible and started to crave for more? I am not sure. One thing I knew, was that I needed to make a change!

I decided to use supplements that suppose to help with energy, so I could work out more. From Andrew Huberman Podcast I learned about Athletic Greens. This supplement has 75 vitamins, minerals and whole foods nutrients. You take one scoop of this green powder, mix it with water and you are done! I really like how AG1 tastes. I don't even have to add any sweeteners or lemon, it is good by itself! And I do believe it helps. I am not a scientist, I can only share my very subjective opinion. But I noticed that I have more energy since I started to use this supplement. I am using it since January, so it was more than a month. I used to work out everyday, but most of my workouts were 15-20 minutes long. Now I work out at list 30 minutes a day and then I have second workout in the evening, this second workout is less intense, but still more than I used to have. My Apple Health app shoes my progress, I can see that I made improvements in the past 4 weeks. I like their customer support. I had questions about fasting, they replied almost ight away and explained everything really well. And my shaker was leaking a little bit, and they sent me a new one immediately. To me it is very important if organization builds strong customer support system, so it was another big plus! So if you are on the market for new supplements, check out AG1, maybe you will like it too!

Another thing that helped me to get my weight under control was FatSecret app. This is the tool that can help you to track your calories in and calories out. It shows you nutrition information about the food you are eating. You can see how many carbs, fats and proteins you consume. If you want to limit your saturated fats for example, you can see which products contribute to your saturated fats consumption the most. This app is super detailed. And most of its features are free. I think LoseIt app is another good tool, but for most of its options you need to pay. And FatSecret is way more flexible in terms of free information. I like that I can add my own recipes to FatSecret and get nutrition value for each portion of the recipe. Let's say I made the bunch of veggie burgers or 25 crepes, I can see calories and nutrition for one burger or one crepe. It makes it so easy to track calories of the food that I cook by myself. And I love to try new recipes, so I found this part of the app very helpful and fun!

And the third thing that I found super helpful in my health related journey was InsideTracker app. It is science based tool, which helps you to take actions by checking your blood and DNA biomarkers. I ordered InnerAge 2.0 plan, which includes analysis of 13 biomarkers. First I couldn't understand how pricing worked, I wasn't sure if I needed to make monthly payments or price mentioned on their webpage was one time purchase. They explained that I can pay just one time, get my blood collected and get the analysis. So after I got my blood test (I ordered one that they made at my own home, very convenient) I got recommendations based on my biomarker levels. Most of my results were good. Overall, my Inner Age is 30.5 years which is pretty good compare to my chronological 40.5 years. But I do have high levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) and couple more biomarkers which are not optimized at the moment.

InsideTracker created a list of actions for me, food that I can add to my diet and exercises that I can include in my routine. All recommendations are very well explained. And they have so many details! You can even find recipes for the food you are recommended to eat, you can create your own meal basket. You can see why different food can help you to improve your biomarkers. I also got DNA test and it was combined with my blood work. The report was 47 pages long. I am still working on it. I love to learn new things and InsideTracker teaches me something everyday! I am going to get my next blood work done in May, it will be my regular annual test covered by my insurance. But I will be able to see if I improved my LDL. And in November I am going to try another InsideTracker plan, which is more expensive, but has more biomarkers. I wanted to start with something more affordable. But as I loved InsideTracker so much, I think I can spend more money on it. But I must warn you that InsideTracker process takes a lot of time. To be honest I was annoyed by how long I had to wait from the moment I made a payment till the moment I started to use this app. So I paid for InnerAge plan and DNA test on January 31. I got my blood test results on February 22nd and DNA test results on March 8th. Customer Service is not good, it takes forever to get the answer. And InsideTracker has no integration with Apple Watch or Apple Health data. So there is an area for improvement. I am mentioning this because I was frustrated with their customer service and speed, but I do believe that it's a great tool overall. So if you decide to try InsideTracker and you get annoyed by how slow it is, just try to be patient. Once I got my results, I was really happy with this app!

Right now my weight is about 91 lb, so I lost around 4 pounds. I feel much better, have more energy, and I am looking forward to summer to show my beautiful belly-less body to everyone!

I must say that to me it is kind of like a game. I love puzzles and I love numbers and data. So all these recommendations, charts, graphs and analytics are so much fun! You know, I work in finance, I do projects valuation and I love my job. I love to collect the data and see how one thing can affect another. And I love to sew for the same reason. You have several pattern pieces that in the end of the day you turn into garment. And this is how I look at InsideTracker or FatSecret apps. Maybe if I took this process too seriously I wouldn't like it that much. But life in general should be a joy, you should do what you love and what you find interesting. Health is very important, diet can help you to live longer, but if you worry about it too much, you will get so stressed that your cortisol will destroy all the benefits that you got by eating your broccoli or salmon, ha-ha. So please take care of your health, use accessible tools, do your blood work, but never forget about having fun and enjoying your life! Because life is a game! Play with it!
