Baha’i House of Worship in Chicago
Hi my darlings! I visited so many cute places lately. In this article I will share one of them with you!
Here is the link to the video for today’s post: Baha’i House of Worship in Chicago.
Last week I went with my boyfriend to Baha’i House of Worship. I wanted to be in a beautiful place. The weather was really warm, so perfect day for this trip. Baha’i temple is amazing inside and outside.
The first public mention of Baha’i faith in America was in Chicago in 1893. By the early 1900s nearly one thousand people in The United States and Canada had embraced the Baha’i faith. The members of this new religion wanted to demonstrate their devotion to God and raise a temple for people. Chicago location in the heart of the continent and the peaceful beauty of the site on the shores of Lake Michigan made it a natural choice for the first Baha’i House of Worship in the Western Hemisphere.
In this beautiful place you can learn the history of Baha’i faith, watch documentary about Baha’i House of Worship. You can listen to talks and just walk around.
Baha’i main idea is that we all have one God, who sent different messengers, like Buddha or Jesus, for example. There is only one human family, and that all races, nations, and cultures reflect the wonderful diversity of that family. This religion tries to unite all people and it carries a lot of love and understanding.
I love this temple. It is beautiful and peaceful. It reminds me that we all are equal, that we all are brothers and sisters, that people should support each other, should try to be more friendly.
I am not a religious person, but I love the idea that we all belong to one family, that we all are connected one way or another. It is always better to choose compassion and understanding versus hatred and aggression. When you accept other people the way they are, you actually give freedom to yourself. You don’t waste your time on trying to think of how you can change someone. You just live your life and you are happy and positive. Of course it is easier to say than to do, but can we at least try? Can we just focus on our own well-being and things within us that we can control instead of trying to get something from someone? When you love yourself and take care of yourself, you have less fears and more capacity for understanding. And you become free!
