Enjoy The Show
Hello my dear readers! I hope you are having a great time!
Here is the link to the video for today's post: Enjoy The Show.
Lately I became a little bit addicted to one TV Show, which is called Poirot. These series are based on Agatha Christie's crime novels. Hercule Poirot is a detective, who can solve any crime. He has a charm and the movie itself is very stylish. The way actors are dressed, the interior, the vintage cars, everything looks so neat! And stories are unpredictable and wake up your curiosity.
I like to make my own assumptions of who had committed the crime. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't. Anyway, it is interesting, when you don't know how the story ends, isn't it?
But the other day I watched one episode where I knew who committed the crime and why, because I read this particular story before. I haven't watched the movie about it, but I read the book. And unfortunately this episode was not that exciting anymore. I mean I still watched it because I love David Suchet's acting, but it was not the same as if I didn't know who the murderer was.
And I want to say that it happens not only with crime movies. It is just very exciting to watch something without knowing how the story ends. Maybe for detective stories it is more critical, but even romantic stories are more interesting, if we don't know what will happen with main characters, with their relationships, etc. We like unknown in movies. But have you ever noticed that we don't like unknown in life?
I hope you will never face the crime in real life, but even with little things we get frustrated and stressed when we don't know what outcome will be. It can be worries about job interview that you just had, or a date that you enjoyed, or some important and challenging project at work that you have to lead. You want everything to go well, you want a happy end, but you are afraid of unknown, you don't want to wait, you are eager to get an answer to all of your questions. But why do you think that life will be interesting if you know every outcome you might have? What if you were born and got a book of how your life will go? And you would be able to read the last chapter right away? Are you sure you want to do it? What type of life it could be? Will you be able to enjoy it? Wouldn't it be too boring because of it predictability?
And think of how impossible it is to know the future or to have it just the way you want.
You might ask what am I trying to say here. And my point is that we can just enjoy the show! Life is interesting and you don't have to know the answers to all of your questions right away. Sometimes you have to wait. But you can wait with anxiety and disturbance, or you can wait with curiosity and enjoyment! Our emotions don't let us get pleasure that life can bring to us with its unpredictability. But if you are able to ignore your emotions, your ego, you will be able to relax and truly enjoy the movie that is unfolded in front of you every moment. Yes, sometimes this movie can be scary, sometimes it becomes too dramatic. But it is still YOUR LIFE! It is your absolutely unique experience, it's a free gift! It is exciting and amazing! Just don't let your emotions to ruin it.
If you have too many worries about your future and you want to know the answers to the questions that don't have the answers right now, just try to think of your favorite TV show or movie, of how excited you were, while you have been watching it. We don't need all the answers right away. Our life just won't be so interesting and colorful, if there was no mystery. So turn on your TV and enjoy your “life-show”! Don't let your ego and your emotions stay on your way to this super cool story of your life!
