My Tips For Peaceful Mind

Hello my dear readers! I hope you are doing well! My street looks fun because of Halloween. In the past I couldn't understand why people decorated their houses with some scary stuff, but this year it looks more fun to me, I don't know why.

Today I wanted to share some ideas that help me to stay peaceful.

Here is the link to the video for today's post: My Tips For Peaceful Life. I sang a song in the end of this video. I am not a good singer, but you can still check it out :-)

You know, I think that it is impossible always be happy. We can have moments when we get upset or stressed, when we experience negative emotions. But we can stay calm and peaceful most of the times and reduce the amount of suffering in our lives. Peace in mind helps to avoid unnecessary reactions that we can regret about in future.

So here are my tips for peaceful life:

  1. Trust. I am highly spiritual person. I believe in God and I trust Him. I know that when I feel pain, He will send me strength and comfort, He will give me the right people or ideas, He will guide me and will help me to find the solution. I understand that not everyone believes in God, but you can also believe in yourself, in your own abilities to overcome difficulties, and still have trust. Or you can believe in Mother Nature, that gives us everything we need in order to survive. So even when we feel stressed or upset, we can still believe that there is the light in the end of the tunnel. And even if you are very pessimistic and don't believe in that, you can use the quote from David Goggins, "There is not always a light at the end of the tunnel, but if you stay in darkness long enough, your eyes will begin to adjust." I think this is a cool idea. You don't have to wait till something amazing happens in order to face the challenges. You are strong right here, right now, and you can do whatever you need to achieve your goals and fulfill your purpose. And if you believe in yourself, you only get stronger and stronger. As I said, I do believe in God, so it is even easier to face difficulties, because I know that I am never alone.

  2. Call out your feelings out loud. I am not sure why it works, but when I experience emotional discomfort, I can say to myself, "I suffer, it hurts, I am in pain right now." And if I do that, my pain goes away much faster. I think it happens because I don't fight my negative emotions. I accept them the way they are and I don't waste my energy on action plans on how to avoid unpleasant sensations. I don't hate my own feelings or thoughts. Sometimes I can get upset without any external reason, it's just the way my hormones work. I cannot really do anything about it. So why waste my time on trying to get rid of this discomfort? I like to face reality and see the things the way they are. And when I do that I suffer much less.

  3. Meditation. I don't like to meditate when I feel pain. But I do like my morning meditation practice, which helps me to build the foundation of peaceful mind. I don't want to wait till something bad happens, I want to train my brain little by little everyday, so when I get upset, I can reduce the amount of disturbance. Meditation helps me a lot. Even scientists are saying that daily meditation practice can improve your life. When I was not meditating daily, I felt worse than I feel now, when I spend 20 minutes on meditation every morning.

  4. Journaling. It can be very therapeutical to leave your emotions on paper. When I write my journal, I get detached from my problems, I look at them from a different angle and they don't seem to be so bad, sometimes I can even augh at something that made me upset when I write it down. It helps me to be less scared.

  5. Gratitude exercise. I love Gratitude Journal app. I type in three things I am grateful for every night. And I can add some photos too. It is fun and helps me to feel happier before I go to sleep. You don't have to use the same app of course, you can just think of one thing that you enjoyed today and it will be enough, if you do it daily. There is always something we can be thankful for. And if we pay attention to the beauty of life, we become much more peaceful!

These are my 5 tips. I hope you found them helpful! And I hope you enjoy fall season like I do!
